Keeping a New Flexo Press in Perfect Condition
A Daetwyler Analyze, Design, Implement, Measure Success Story
Before Daetwyler
Clients don’t ONLY call Daetwyler when they already have a problem.
Sometimes, they’re looking to prevent issues with new equipment so it keeps delivering like-new performance for as long as possible.
So, when one of our clients asked us to help advise on a new flexo set-up, our experts were there to provide guidance and solutions for doctor blades that would be the most cost-effective while also eliminating waste, enhancing print performance, and avoiding damage to the anilox.
How Analyze, Design, Implement, Measure Made a Difference
Test solutions under real-world conditions
The Daetwyler approach to test solutions under real-world conditions was able to prove, that Daetwyler blades were the best of multiple suppliers being tested. Targets were set for each trial run to evaluate waste, run time, and printability.
To further ensure that blade performance was the key test variable, the client also asked Daetwyler to conduct a full classroom training for proper set up procedures related to doctor blades, end seals, and other pressroom best practices.
After Daetwyler
Test runs
After all doctor blades had completed the same trial runs, Daetwyler‘s combination of product and service showed a reduction in downtime, decreased anilox wear, and the best print quality among the test runs.
As well, the client noticed they were able to avoid many issues that are common in a new press start up because the trial-run training served as an advanced onboarding process which gave junior operators a chance to learn from experienced Daetwyler experts.
